A new startup Ning launched 25 months ago and is currently in Toddler mode. The company describes itself as a cross between myspace and wallmart. Ning was created by 27 developers and was 1.5 Million self funded by the infamous co founders of Netscape.
Ning has 3 competitors, but diffres from others as Ning users can create their own worlds and no longer have to fit into the format of others.
The content is 100 percent user-generated with a shelf life of a few months. Ning is a social network development suite that you can use to create your own myspace, but importantly you can focus around your own interests, and build a community of alien investigators or art enthusiasts as you like.
